UK visa support for Ukrainian nationals

gov.uk change note: Published new Russian and Ukrainian translations.

View on gov.uk →

Headline

The document formatting was updated with additional line breaks throughout, and the bullet point formatting in identity document lists was changed from unformatted to proper markdown bullets — no substantive policy changes.

Changes in detail

  1. Throughout the document — Added numerous blank lines for spacing/formatting purposes (approximately 25+ instances of new blank lines added).

  2. Section "Proving your identity and providing your documents" — Changed the formatting of the alternative identity document list from unformatted text to proper markdown bullet points. The content remains identical, but now uses "- " prefix for each bullet point instead of plain text formatting. This affects the list of alternatives to a valid international passport (recently expired passport, Ukrainian ID card, combination of documents, emergency certificate).

  3. Section "If you're already in the UK on a visa" — Changed the formatting of the two application options from unformatted text to markdown bullet points ("- to extend your current visa" and "- to switch to a different visa").

Practical implications

None. These are purely formatting changes that do not affect eligibility criteria, application processes, deadlines, or any substantive immigration requirements. No action is required for pending applications or client advice.

Administrative changes

  • Multiple instances of additional blank lines added throughout the document for improved readability
  • Conversion of existing bullet point lists to proper markdown formatting (using "- " prefix)
  • No changes to headings, content, or policy substance
  • The change note mentions new Russian and Ukrainian translations, but these are not visible in this English version diff
